1. Do you have one (or more)?

2. Where are they located?

3. When's the last time you checked them?

4. Have you ever used one in an emergency situation?

5. Have you received any training on how to use a fire extinguisher? Either reading a brochure, or CBT or instructor-led?

ok ... thanks all. I'm doing my project on (horse) stall cleaning.

!. Yes x2 (At work x4)
2. Hallway and up stairs hallway (At work, they are everywhere)
3. Yesterday (At work, same)
4. Yes
5. Yes, but was a very very long time ago (but I still remember  )

Another question you should ask is if they bought it or if it came with the home/apartment/flat. If bought, what made them decide on the one they bought.

Oooo, and for extra points if they know what rating it is and if they know what these ratings mean. :D

LOL ... no gonaads ... this survey is to gather data about the "need" for fire extinguisher training. I've found sites that say "if you don't know how, don't try it in an emergency situation" but no data that supports the implication that trying to use one when you haven't had training is worse than not using one at all.

I'll call the FD and see what they got to say about it. I want to do the CERT training this fall, anyway ... maybe I can ... uhh ... Leverage (yeah, thats it) some stuff from there.

Just really difficult identifying a true training need.

Yes, one in the cubby by the stairs next to the kitchen.

A month ago or so I checked it.

I used one to put out a fire at work once that a guy in the shop started.

We were trained at work to use them, and for basic CPR and our emergency plans for almost everything.

Happens when the tie holding the safety pin is broke and the pin gets knocked out by your 18 month old. then when you go to put some tools back you get an explosion in the back as it goes off

Hey EP! All good with me, applying for Microsoft MVP right now, should have done this a while ago.

Notifications don't work, I only found your response by coming back to hunt up some threads, if you want, give me your email address so we can keep in touch easier!

EP, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there!
