The little button on the bottom right hand side (near the clock) that you press to show hidden icons isnt there any more how do I get it back?

Right click the task bar, choose properties, put check mark in hide inactive icons🙂

done that reset checked everything nothing!!

ok , right click the start bar , goto where you make that button appear again , but click customize then select the programs that you want to be hiden or shown when they are inactive
that should solve the problem

tried that as well, looks like a repair windows job

Try this.

go start > log off > log off
then log back on
or
R-click the taskbar & select Task Manager
under Processes tab select Explorer.exe & End Task
under Applications tab select New Task
type in explorer and click ok
