i have been putting money away to buy myself a laptop, as i am trying to establish a more online presence for myself and my business venture things. i was wondering if you guys had any recomendations, advice, and more importantly, linkage to shops or models you guys think i should be thinking about.

id like to bring call of duty on the road with me, something with abit of space, 40gb maybe, network port to link it to my desktop pc and its gotta be thin and light as possible. cd burner would be great too. anything close to that would be great.

i have about £400 together now. so as cheap as possible, so i know how much more ill need.

my interest in getting a laptop is renewed, so this thread has been bumped to save starting another.

im hoping to spend about £800~ on something in the 2.4-2.8ghz scale, about 512mb ram with 40-80gb hard drive and a decent enough graphics card to play call of duty etc. i also want it to tie in with the wireless network im about to start in the house.

anything spring to mind? im hunting away myself but if anyone can recommend some places that operate in the uk that would be awesome. thanks guys!
