Getting ready to update my system ! I have it down to two cards !

NVIDIA GeForce™ FX 5700 Ultra 128MB 8x AGP w/DVI & S-Video

and

ATI RADEON™ 9600 PRO 128MB 8x AGP w/DVI & S-Video !

They are both about the same price, but of the two whats better ?

Thanks !!

boy, that's really a close one. they're just about identical, performance-wise. maybe the 5700ultra is 1-2% faster overall, but not enough to make up your mind.

i say go with which brand (ati or nvidia) you prefer.

lol, give the FX ago, its about time someone said something good about nvidia....

I have 1 good comment, 'GeForce' sounds way better than 'Radeon' :D

Go for the Radeon, it's 20 to 30% in DirectX 9.0 games. Especially using PS 2.0.

THe Radeon has a better designed GPU.

I'd go for the Radeon....

lol, although I just said get the 'FX'

About 5 minutes ago, I converted to ATI and i'm not gonna get an FX anymore.... Radeon all the way :D

flip a coin :)

seriously speaking though I would probably still recommend the radeon since its raw performance with shaders is faster than the 5700ultra... however the performance is so close its a toss-up...

both are definitely superior to the 5600ultra however...

if you have a lesser powered psu though... the 9600pro is a better buy since it does not require an external power source...

IRT Topic:

The nVidia shaders have taken a huge blow lately. Have fun with an ATi I say.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
