After running my 2.0A at 2.6 for two solid years (air-cooled MCX478), I have finally had to up the core voltage to 1.525 (via Abit's SoftMenu) on my BD-7 Raid to gain rock-solid stability once again.:)

Idle: 38C
Load (22 hours): 45C

:)

Not bad.

Actually, yes.

Snook just let us all know extended overclocking has resulted in long term degradation of his system. (What used to work without jacking the voltage now needs more help to run.) Important point to remember, you do eventually pay for pushing the envelope. The system is now on the path to failure.

Bingo! Well put. However, such a mild voltage increase does not spell out immediate/total system failure.;)

Furthermore, nothing lasts forever...:(

yeah, by the time it does die, it will be time to upgrade anyway.

who cares if your processor doesn't last even 3 years? :)

nice to see an actual downside to overclocking for once.. you always hear about the glitter. thanks.

wow... you got all that from his first 2 posts ?

I was sitting scratching my head and thinking... I think snook's lost it... again... @ a whole new level...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
