norton system works 2003

hi, i installed norton system works 2003 on my computer and ran live update after the installation. an update for norton antivirus came out but it said "LiveUpdate could not determine if there is an update for this product because the update list for this product is corrupted." so it downloads the new virus definitions and installs them but it still tells me that my virus definitions are out of date. so again i go through live update and it has the same update i just downloaded. is there something wrong with my software or is this something with the server? if it is my software, what can i do to fix it? i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but i got the same thing. thanks in advance.

Try uninstalling again but don't forget to uninstall liveupdate. After removing NSW2K3 you'll need to reboot. Then uninstall LiveUpdate and you'll need to reboot again (annoying).

The problem is a little familiar --happened to me once, and it most likely resides in a minor corruption of the original LiveUpdate installation.
