No web after disconnect-reconnect dialup

After disconnecting (or loosing) a dialup connection to the web (AT&T), I am un able to get a single webpage on a re-connect in IE 6/XP Pro.

Work-offline is not enabled.

I used the network support tool under help: the ping commands returned a failure after numerous pings to the DNS/DHCP servers.

Only solution I have is reboot if I want to re-connect to the web again.

This just began to happen. I don't even know how to search for this on the Knowledge Base.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Are you using Zone Alarm as your firewall? If so, this may be the cause of your problem as other users have discovered. If you do a search for Zone Alarm in these forums, then all should be revealed.

That was the problem! Upgraded to ZoneAlarm 3.x and everything is fine now.
