No sound on quicktime movie trailers

I upgraded my quicktime recently and now I don't have sound when viewing quicktime movie trailers. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling and then using the quicktime alternate program and nothing works. I have sound on all other types of files, i.e. music with winamp and other web videos. I tried to uninstall my soundblaster audigy sound drivers and reinstall them and that didn't work either.

I saw several people had this problem when I googled it, but no one has figuered out how to fix it so I though someone here might be able to help.

Thanks.

  1. Open "QuickTime" in control panel and choose the setting of "Sound Out".
  2. If "DirectSound" is selected for a playback device, choose "waveOut" instead.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
