No-Name Firewire is not recognized from XP

Some days ago i installed a no name firewire card but WinXP does not recognize it at all. Even a manual driver installation does not work.
I exchanged the card with an equal model but the result keeps the same.
Has anyone an idea how i could install the card?

It may be an IRQ sharing problem, or the fact that it doesn't like to share IRQ's. At work, we install 8-port PCI serial cards into mostly Compaq PC's, and even though PCI interrupt sharing is generally okay with most cards, some just do not like it. Go into your bios and try to give it an IRQ all it's own and see what happens. Hope I helped.

IRQ didn't do the trick

Hi ThePman,

that didn't do it. The card isn't recognized by the hardware agent from XP. Even when doing manual (setting the IRQ) Windows says, that there is no card to install... .

Is there anything in the bios that indicates the card is being recognized there? If the bios isn't picking it up, Windows generally won't see it either. Do you have more than one PCI slot open? If so, try moving the card to a different slot. If in fact it is shown in the bios, you can try to contact the manufacturer. Maybe there is an updated driver avaialble.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
