Hi,

I posted this a while ago but the responese stopped. If someone who knows registry editing well could you please help me with this?

Ran the Bootvis utility and followed the steps to the 'T', after optimizing my system and upon reboot the DVD and CD writer drivers did not load!! I've gone into device manager and the drives are there but with an exclamation icon on them. It says:

'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.'

I've uninstalled both devices and reinstalled and they stay exactly the same!! ARHHHHH!! Really frustrated...Is there someting in the registry that I have to change back to default?? (Is it as easy as changing a value from 0 to 1 or something?? I don't know registry editing all that well.

Thanks in advance,

J

PS- I've also tried to do system restore but it doesn't help anything.

FINALLY!!!

YOU RULE!!!!! Worked like a charm! Both drives up and running now.

Thanks a ton Sage,

J

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
