Nikon coolpix 775 Camera

Just bought a Nikon Coolpix 775 Digital camera. I can't get XP to recognize it, can anyone help? I installed the software that came with the camera, but it still won't recognize the camera.

I have the Nikon Coolpix 800

I have the Nikon coolpix 800, and I also have windows Xp.

However, I am using a Sandisk imagemate compact flash reader to transfer my photos to my computer.

This works excellent and XP has no compabaility issues with the Sandisk.
