okay, i know dual-ddr can be accomplished with 2 equal sticks of memory. but what happens if there is...

1 - one 256mb and one 512mb? will it be dual-ddr 512mb total? or no dual-ddr at 768mb?
2 - two 256mb and one 512mb? can the two 256mb be treated as one stick, giving 1gb of dual-ddr?

curious. :)

one 256 and a 512 chipwill be one 768mb dual ddr chip

adn 2x 256 chips can be treated as one 512 dual ddr with the other 512 ship so in total 1gb of ram

it is like that on mine at the momentwitht he 256 and the 512

so, with 1x256mb and 1x512mb, it's dual-ddr 768mb? how does that work? is it dual-ddr up until it uses the upper 256mb of memory then that area is single channel?

I thought dual channel had to be used with matched sticks (2x256 or 2x512)??
Maybe i'm wrong though, more likely since you are running with that setup...

yeah, there seems to be some confusion. can anyone find a review site or something that goes over this issue?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
