ok

I wanna set up a network so my 2 pc can share my internet connection, drives etc......One pc has xp pro, DSL (zyxel 642ME), connection......the other pc will have w98 or ME. both pc has nic card installed. So what do I will need to share drives and internet connection......

ok i got it thanks!!

but now i got this problem and question:

i have no pci left in my pc with the internet connection......i have a firewire pci card installed in the pc, so why it appears in the device manager like a net adapter??? Can I use it for networkin?

A firewall PCI card is a NIC card that has a built in Firewall. It is designed for Servers who are directly connected to an internet backbone without a firewall in between. Since it is a standard NIC, you can use it for your LAN.

ehhh i know what a firewall PCI card is. I'm not talkin about it, I'm talkin about a FIREWIRE card, it shows in the device manager as a 1394 Net Adapter

Yes, there are certain cables you can use to network two computer via a firewire cable. Shop around for a cable specifically labeled for PC to PC networking, and if both PCs have a firewire port, in most cases it can be used for internet and peer to peer LAN networking

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
