two main things i want to point out...

1) i suggest getting an lcd with a dvi connection. most new video cards have a dvi (digital video interface) connection which was made for lcd's. with that, the video signal stays digital from the time it is rendered on the card, to the time it's displayed on the screen. this gives you the best picture. otherwise, with the old 15-pin vga connection, the picture is rendered, then converted to analog on the card, sent to the monitor and (if it's an lcd), re-converted back to digital to be displayed. quite inefficient.

i think all lcd's with dvi also have the standard vga connection, too, in case you need it. but the dvi will come in handy if/when you upgrade your video card (if you don't already have it).

2) response time! i don't see it listed anywhere in those specs. but it's a necessary peice of information if you plan on watching movies or playing games with it. a high response time (20-60ms) will cause blurring behind moving objects.

1. DVI! Get DVI! I have a very nice LCD, 17in, Samsung Syncmaster 170t. Digital at 1280 x 1024. The picture is very, very nice, and I notice no motion blur in games.

2. Sony LCD's are nice, but the ones with DVI are expensive. Mine cost $ 890.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
