ACR
Audio Communications Riser, a slot that is only used by large OEMs to add cheap devices to their computers. Since ACR devices are software based, they often times sap a lot of CPU resources
Do they have ACR modems too? I thought that they only had AMR modems.Reg said:It's a special slot designed specificially for communication. Usually, the device you would put into it would be a modem. Modems for that slot cost around $4-5 so it's a good choice if you are looking for a cheap modem. Otherwise, there is no other real function for it.

Does this mean your bits ALL wrrived and that ATI card is up for (my) grabs now? 😉 EMail me whenever - I can imagine you have plenty to do and opening boxes is more exciting than packing 'em up.... On which subject I hope you have all the stuff the ATI came with - and when you have time could you let me know - just so I can get more excited....Teddy said:Thanks! 🙂
