just tried to install a router between my two comps both winxp.but when i set it up on the host pc it comes up with :

"cannot complete the network setup wizard

other computers cannot connect to the internet through this computer

in addition to its internet connection this computer must have a connection to you network"

before that it said i have more than 1 network adapter so i disabled the 1394 net adapter.

any suggestions?

set one of your pc's to:
IP: 192.168.0.100
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
GW: 192.168.0.1

open IE browse to 192.168.0.1 & setup your router
with default settings winXP should be set to obtain IP address automatically, you shouldn't have to configure much.

i think when i connected my router i somehow lost my ip address i had to disconnect my router and connect my modem back up and ring my ips`s support line to help me get my ip address back.maybe that was my problem that i didnt have a ip address for my router? im gonna give it another try tomorrow.

my two computers can see each other but when i turn my router on i lose my internet connection and i cant go to 192.168.2.1 to config my router.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
