Network Problem

i have just installed windows xp on my desktop but i have trouble accessing my local uni network. i am staying in college therefor i have a workgroup called chisholm. the chisholm workgroup is connected to the domain called studyhall. i have already put my documents and settings on shared on my local pc but each time i tried to login into my domain it keeps saying that it can't find my profile and will log me into a locally stored temporary profile. can anyone help me?

MagicStar,

what OS were you running before? Did you install XP over the top or perform a clean install? I ask as I had similar problems with my machine, I ended up with access to mail server and internet via network but had to use PC in library to access documents and copy all across to my machine. Not ideal however was a simple fix
