If you are connecting two computers together via a network cards in your pci slots then you need a special cable called a crossover cable, a regular ethernet cable won't do.

There are threads on this site, I suggest doing a search under crossover cable to find out how other users set up two machines up, but basically that's all you need if you are only connecting two computers. If you connect more, you will need to purchase a network hub.

I use a crossover cable with two computers, but had trouble with WindowXP's built in networking, it's not all that good and was very slow for me until I used Sygate's Home Network, fast and works like a dream.

Here is the url:

Hope that helps.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
