Netscape 7.0 and Pop-ups.

I saw Jewelzz's note on the front page about no pop-up suppression in Netscape 7.0 and just wanted to relate my experience with this.

It's true there is no option in the Edit/Preferences section to suppress the opening of unrequested windows in Net 7, but if you install Mozilla first and set it up to supress pop-ups, then a subsequent installation of Net 7 will import this option and it will suppress pop-ups.

I can't imagine why Netscape wouldn't put this very handy feature in Net 7, maybe because they use pop-ups in their portal? I don't know, I haven't seen a pop-up in months now.

any one know how i can i completely restrict use of netscape on windows ME? at least so it would not be able to do anything on internet. only IE.

u think i wouldnt think of that? but installing that ***** takes about 5 min max. i need some permanent solution to it, and some how disableing it from browsing internet would be good.

Make IE the default browser.

Select File/Work Offline. This setting seems to persist once selected even after you close the app and restart it.

making IE default browser doesnt do anything at all, u still can freely use netscape. and making it off line promts u to connect to internet every time, so it's more of an annoyance then solution.

If IE is the default browser then how can netscape startup.
mmmmmmmmmmmm maybe that's why it ain't too popular.

well it's not a problem for me, i'm always working in xp not ME. but with IE i can control the sites accessed more or less. with netscape it's different story. so i have to somehow disable it once and for all,
