I agree, ccleaner is a great program. I have never had to restore one of my registry cleans I did either. But, you never know when you will need that "one" ...
What I like about Regcleaner is I can set it so entries are marked new until I manually mark the entries old. This way you can keep tabs on new entries into the registry (like when installing software).
I used to use regcleaner all the time. When I switched to ccleaner I quit using it. Although the thing with regcleaner I really liked was the search function in it ..
