OK, My CD drive is d, and my 2nd partition is e. Very annoying. How do I change it to be partition is d, and cd is z in XP?? I know how in 98, but they changed the options in device manager.

I ended up having to unplug my CD drive and then I used Partition Magic to change the letter to something more suitable

Try this. You'll have to give one another letter to free one up then give it the letter you want. My cd rom is x. Now it is out of the way of everything else.

To Change Drive Letters

Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, Disk Management, then right-click the partition whose name you want to change (click in the white area just below the word "Volume") and select "change drive letter and paths."
From here you can add, remove or change drive letters and paths to the partition.

Thanks guys. I just tried Hip's method so hopefully everything will work again. Can you remember how to have fast logon, but get rid of the welcom screen?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
