i know i need to add a line to my boot.ini file, but i cant remember what exactly..

all i can remember is the end part which wuz: =C:\Windows Windows 98 which i always found peculier cuz my win98 wuz installed on D:

but whatever

can u tell me what i need to do to get my boot manager back.. thanks.

Try inserting the below or adding it to your existing one.

Goto 'my computer' > 'properties' > 'advanced' > 'startup and recovery' > 'edit (boot.ini)'

Or just get it in eXPlorer

[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
D:\="Windows Operating System on D:"

just go to a cmd line in xp and type bootcfg/fix and it will fix the nt bootloader...or type bootcfg/? to see your options...hope this helps.

i tried it and when i selected the OS on boot up, it would automatically reboot my computer

oh well, i'll format the drive

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
