Hi all:

I need help to find the video driver. My pc is Dell Dimension 4550, 128 MB, and P4 with windows 2000.
I don't know exactly the video driver for it. I tried all of the drivers from dell website, but it does not work.
I open the case and look at the add on video controller card. Here is what I saw on the card. @2001 ATI Technologies Inc
N625
S/N: 220248011194
CN: 09k099-44571-zBL-02ZG

I went to the ATI website and tried some drivers, still does not work. I am really tired of this video card.
With your your help, this will not my cp.:)

According to dell you don't have an ATI card it is, unless i am being a spaz, a Nvidia TI 4600, of course if you put another card in, it'll be a different story, but that was the original card.

this link should take you to the driver:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R50374&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_4550&os=WNT5&osl=en&deviceid=2614&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=1&formatcnt=1&fileid=59525

if this does not work, try this link at nvidia themselves for the driver, this may be the better option anyway.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html

You have an ati video card and the drivers you would select would be for win2k.

This should really narrow down your options both on ati's website and on the dell website.

The drivers are relatively universal.

The product you have appears to be :

ATI N625 Rage Pro Turbo AGP Video Card

Just get the appropriate drivers for that product.

How can it be a ti 4600 when it is an ati card?

I am going by the information the user has posted after looking inside their system :smoker:

The 4550 was offered with a variety of cards as well, not just the ti. 4600

hmmm true, i gues he must have updated his comp, strange as the ti 4600 would have been a better card, would it not?!

Thank you, Lancer and Sazar

I tried two drivers that Lancer posted the links, but they don't work.
I cannot find exact driver for "ATI N625 Rage Pro Turbo AGP Video Card" as Sazar said
I also tried a few close matched from the link https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27 that you sent, but they don't work.

I know that this cp had XP before, howerver I install 2000. I tried this "ATI Rage 128 Ultra 32MB" driver from dell. Then it said this one is closely matched, but still does not work. It likes to pick up this one, but it one is for xp.

who know ... where can i get it.

I need a video driver:ATI RAGE 128 PRO ULTRA GL AGP for windows 2000

why is that even hard, just google it, as i'm sure Sazar did (actually he probably knew where it was at his fingertips).

Am i being usg mean? Sorry don't mean to be, just mean to educate you to help you in the future.

ok i came across this one, it is supposed to work.

http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=126582

i'm sure you did, but did you try this one:

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894

Also try these old beta drivers:

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27

What you seem to have is an Xpert 128 (which is the brand name for the Rage 128 GL).

if none of those drivers work, well i don't know what to tell you, you may need to get a program to delete all the ati drivers on your pc and then try the most obvious driver, which should either be the first or second link i gave you.

still does not work. My os is 2000 not xp. this pc has xp before.

All I did was go to that page I had linked you to before and select win 2k as the os.

It is not difficult to search for the rage gfx card from the list of options from there.

Unfortunately I can't link correctly it seems because of the policies on their site but that is the correct driver for your card.

You just have to select it from the list of options when navigating.

sheesh.. this should not be that hard..

Good work to both of ya's.. reps to you all!

*dances around spreading reps*

hey i find myself in a generous mood today, don't ask me why... my boss is being a dick and my wife is being a... well best not to say haha.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
