I would like to build a home file server that could also handle print server duties and I have some minor exposure to Unix from a previous job and would like to try my hand at Linux.
I would like some help, please, with determining some minimum specs for the machine.

never been a fan of the hold you hand Linux distros but yes if your new to linux that's a good one to use, and i should now i have used most out there :D

I love Slackware, but FreeBSD has also got alot of benifits like the port tree :)

freebsd x64 has a downside - no video driver from nvidia :p - so no good for me wanting to burn dvds on the server while watching films on main pc :D

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
