everytime i try to play something that is formatted (.avi or .zip etc)
my real one player looks for the software needed to play the file but never finds any. what do i need to play files that are .avi, .zip etc?. is there a quick time player for windows xp?

You need to download the DivX codec from the front page of this website, under - Latest XP drivers - Divx 5.0

Also the .zip file needs to be UNcompressed, the actual file is inside that.

Use winzip or winrar to uncompress the .zip file

if the movie is a real AVI you should be able to use media player, or else you need the Divx codec. you could also goto apple's site and download quicktime to play AVI's

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
