Hi Guys,

I got this toshiba M50 - MX2 laptop here.

Anyways, I can't find the vid card driver for it. I tried Toshiba downloads section, but it doesn't have the M50-MX2 version listed there. I tried a few other M50 listed drivers but it doesn't work.

Would anyone know, or can find out what the ATI vid card is in this thing?

It has an "Graphics by ATI" sticker on it, that's all I know.

Thanks

Heeter

try Aida32

AIDA32 is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program running on Win32 platforms. It extracts details of all components of the PC. It can display information on the screen, print it, or save it to file in various formats like HTML, CSV or XML. For corporate users, AIDA32 offers command-line switches, network audit and audit statistics, remote system information and network management.

Starting with version 3.00, AIDA32 is released in 3 different variants, Enterprise, Personal and network.

Is this the "original" driver/OS for the laptop or are you trying to convert it from VISTA to XP?

If it is the original OS then the Toshiba support site will have the latest version available.

If you are trying to convert chances are slim you will find the required driver. Toshiba totally resists shifting to XP from VISTA. I have been unable to find optimum XP graphics drivers for my "VISTA" laptop but fortunately Intel supplies a fairly large set of drivers on it's website than were adequate Adequate means I get about a 40% reduction in 3D frame rate from what it should be for this graphics chipset and CPU.

Post the laptop model, the graphics set as reported by CPUz, Sandra, etc. and I will poke around. I found my conversion info on a forum that has a multi year long thread about upgrading Toshiba's to XP.

Maybe try CPU-Z and see what motherboard is installed in the laptop then go from there.

I am not trying to convert, just reinstalling XP

I looked everywhere for this model number of laptop on Toshiba site, nothing directly called M50-MX2, just a whole bunch of other M50 Satellite models.

I will try CPU-Z

Thanks,

Awesome, Thanks, TDinc.

I was at the ATI driver download site as well last night, but definitely not looking at this one, I was looking at something totally different.

The Toshiba does have a Celeron CPU too.

CPU-Z didn't work either.

Can't wait to try it later,

Thanks again, TDinc.
