MySQL Error - Need Help

MySQL Error - NEED HELP ASAP

I recently updated my server to mysql 4.0.14, and it went all well. very happy, and now about 2 hours away from the release of the game that my website is based on mysql chooses to screw up. i don't know whats wrong but the basic info:

RH7.1
MySQL 4.0.14
Ensim

Someone suggested "something about something is using port 3306 and the network interface isn't starting"

MySQL reports as being running, however it doesn't seem to startup when I start the machine, but it seems to startup fine with a manual command.


Can anyone help me ASAP please?

MySQL isn't running. That the mysql.sock(2) error. Port 3306 is only needed to connect remotely to MYSQLADMIN.

Installed MySQL 4.0.16. Problem fixed.

btw - mysql was running
