My Microsoft Trackball can turn on the PC after XP is hibernate.
It turn on automatically when moving the mouse ball.
How can I disable this feature?
I search through my motherboard manual but don't know how to disable it.

Asus P5rd1-v 3G CPU 512MB RAM
Windows XP Professional
Microsoft Intellimouse Trackball

Navigate to computer management, Device manager and expand the plus sign next to “mice and other pointing devices”

Right click the mouse select properties then click the “Power management Tab” and if checked then uncheck “Allow this device to bring the computer out of stand by” then click OK.

If this is not what you’re talking about then, I have seen an option in the bios but I don’t remember what it’s called right now.

it's working after disable the option.
i found only my mouse have this feature, other generic mouse dont have.

My mouse does this too, not that I ever use the hibernate feature. But it'll bring it out of the screen saver all the time. I've always assumed its because of the sensitivity of the LogitechG5, since my old MS mouse never did it.

Screen saver any mouse does that the return from hibernate thats something else all together.

I look through all option in BIOS, no any relate option..
also my MS keyboard can turn on the PC..

Check under advanced in bios. Look for energy saving or power management

There are settings to allow keyboard, mouse or LAN to turn a PC in hibernate or standby to ON.

HOT Key Power on .. that's specific feature for Epox mobo's .
