A HEPA filter will trap cig smoke too, but again dont think anyone makes them for PC cases....that would be wayyyy too anal.

hhhhmmmm..... i 'think' it's the dust
but then..... when i clean off some of the dust from the fan and heat sink, (of the processor), it actually gets even louder, or starts making a whirly whistling sounds.... so i just leave it

now, i added a gf3ti500, it has it's own fan, and a slot fan to further cool it. I can hear my comp fans from 10 meters away

why don't you try coolerguys.com, they seel noise dampening pads for like $20. work well.....but I think you should get a nicer fan from dell.
