You don't need the Linksys network card the A7N8X-DX comes with 2 built in LAN Adapters. Maybe you should go buy 2 30/40gb (depends on cash I guess) and use them with your new RAID controller (built into the board). Also note there is integrated 6 channel audio on the board as well so you probably don't really need the sound card you have there.

I love the board so far, had it for about 2 weeks. When you upgrade your BIOS to 1.002 it gives speech diagnostics on command VERY COOL. For example: "Power on self test completed now booting from operating system." gives it that extra special touch to an already great board!

the nvidia gf4 ti 4600 is the exact same video card as the gf4ti 4800 so there is not really much difference between the 2 cept price @ the moment... and even that is not by much

the 4800 has agp 8x support which is the only difference between the 2.. and agp 8x in todays applications and many near future ones does not give a performance boost over agp 4x :)

first off, you don't need the LAN, as the board has two onboard, also the onboard sound is amazing, so the Turtle Beach isn't needed either. umm, the unboard RAID is for SATA ONLY! so you need either SATA to PATA adapters, or a external RAID card, or just go with one big HDD. I'd look at the WD SE drives (with the 8 MB Cache) instead of the Seagate.

Also look at the ATi Radeon 9500 Pro, it is a better card for the money....

So that's the only difference? Why is 8x cheaper than 4x, when 8x cards can be run at 4x? Seems pointless to me. I might pick up a TI4800.

I dunno why one is cheaper than the other... might just be the manufacturer and package offered :)

Radeon 9700 Pro huh... yeah... I thought we covered this. I can't get mine to work so I'm probably going to RMA is pretty soon.

if u can afford the 9700 PRO, go for it, but if not look into a 9700, or a 9500 Pro

you really in no need for ASUS CD-S520 BLACK 52X CD-ROM $34 you should replace this with either a DVD drive or a CD writer, you will need one of them in future..I prefer a CD writer so I could back up my system one day.
I think Geforce 4 is enough you don't need to spend more money on ATI since it has the same features plus it supports DX9.

i have a 32x cdrw on this system right now and a dvd player that i never use. i have a ps2 and a pioneer dvd player. so the one of my comp is NEVER EVER used. and i dont like ATI cards

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
