I, like many others, and having a problem printing from an XP machine to a ME printserver. I have insured everything that has been talked about in other posts, but nothing seems to work. One person printed to the printer once, but not when the printer was loaded. An error appeared every time she tried to print, then when she deleted the printer, it printed. All network settings are correct, with Netbuei over TCP/IP. All other machines not running XP will see and print to the ME server, but the xp machines will not. Also, without Netbeui, the ME machine will ping an XP machine, but with Netbeui it will not?????????????

Have you tried loading the XP print drivers locally?

PING is a part of the TCP/IP protocol suite. NetBEUI doesn't know what it is. It should work with both protocols installed though.

I have thought about that aspect, but I have not yet gotten that far. I can't even see the Millenium print server on the network when using xp. I can print fine to a win2000 machine, but I have learned fast that 2000 and ME are in two different worlds.

Really don't need to "see" it on the browse list. This is a problem with the browsing service. If you enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP it might improve that performance.

I would try reinstalling the printer. Install it as a network printer. When it asks for a path just type it in using the UNC \\computername\sharename. When you get to driver part, select have disk and install the drivers locally.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
