MSN Spaces, Microsoft's new blogging service was just launched a few hours ago. Channel9 has a couple of videos:

Apparently, the new service will integrate with the upcoming release of MSN Messenger, and includes some features like photo sharing and moblogging (i.e. posting pictures directly from your camera-phones)

Wonder how Wallop is going to tie into all this.

That's one way of looking at it, although Google bought over Pyra Labs, the original creators of Blogger (I've been using Blogger before Google had anything to do with it).

Also, Microsoft, HP, Google etc. have been in the corporate blogging scene for a while now (see blogs.msdn.com), so it was expected that MS would eventually get a blogging service out to the public too.

Thinking about it - Wallop is currently a Microsoft Research project, rather than just a Microsoft one, which means it's probably a prototype for something that'll be coming in the future, like most other MSR projects. The question is will it somehow tie in with this new MSN Spaces service, or will it be something separate (which would be a little weird).

By the way, if anyone watched the videos, let me know what you think. I'm on a terrible connection right now, so I really can't stream those nice big files.

My site has been powered by Blogger for far too long to switch to this now, but it might be a nice sort of side-thing to use if it fits in nicely with MSN Messenger.

How does it differ from Wallop?
That's what I'm wondering, other than the fact that MSN Spaces is now open to everybody.
It's also a different interface (more blog-like) rather than the Flash-based interface of Wallop.
I'm just wondering how the two of them will fit together.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
