MSN Messenger keeps telling me that I need to close stuff whenever I am trying to get rid of the icon down in the tray over by my clock...

I attached the message I get to this post...

I have nothing open when I am trying to do this... Why is it telling me this?

What type of icon are getting rid of?

Try closing all the applications and then restarting your computer.
I think this will do :)

I did... I've tried everything to my knowledge. :( I tried closing all of my programs, checking task manager to see if i had anything open I didn't know about, restarting... I don't know what else to do...

Thats crap, I had the same prob. I had nothing open that needed msn. So I just endtask msnmsgr.exe and that fixes the prob.

I dont know if this will work. Try uninstalling MSN Messenger and then re-install it.
After this, restart your PC.

I didn't even want it on my computer lol... I don't know why I put it back on. I got rid of it last year because it was doing stupid stuff like this before. I think I'll just get rid of it...

I will do the task manager thing...

Thanks for your help ~bk and Admiral Michael!

if your runnings norton anti virus, the msn messenger plugin will stop it closing, its in the anti virus options.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
