Ok here's the dillio...
Windows 98 system running IE 6 and OE 6. The lastest version of MSN Messenger (if not all versions) has intergrated itself into OE6. How can you break them apart.
For instance, if you are running MSN messenger and you have OE open, then try to close MSN Messenger if give you the error that other applications are using it and you need to close them first.
I know of a regedit DWORD but I was wondering if there is any other ways to do this.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

I'm not sure about what you're asking, but I do know if you have Contacts enabled in OE it load MS Messenger. Disable Contacts to stop it from loading.

hmm... how about this..
There is the integration of OE and MSN Messenger. I do not want that. There is no option to disable it.

This how I got to fix it but what I am after is something that dosent require a registry hack...

Registry Settings
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express]
Value Name: Hide Messenger
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (2 = remove messenger)

check out www.dougknox.com under the Windows XP Section. I think he has some sort of a script there that does the job. I've yet to try it out.
