do you use winamp? there is a plugin that allows you to do this. Choose the Nullsoft waveout plugin from the list of output plugins in the preferences then just play your mp3 file. You can customize the plugin by double clicking on it in the list. I hear its not the best, but it can save you from installing more programs. If you dont want to use this one, try searching for mp3 to wav at tucows.com...you will find a couple dozen small apps that will do the same thing

A correction: It's the "disk writer" plugin. waveout is the default playback plugin.

Yeah, there is a SLIGHT quality loss in doing it this way as the INPUT plugin is optimised for efficiency, not quality.

Like I said above, it depends on the decoder used as to weather there is quality loss. I put them in order of best to worst from my GUESS after I tried each one for about 10 seconds 🙂

The above were programs I could find in 5 mins for specifically converting mp3 > wav

Personally, these days I use Nero and do it as I burn.

You could also use a ripping program such as
CDex
or
Exact Audio Copy

Which are likely to be high quality.
