Im looking for an application, preferably free, that will lower the kps of a MP3. Most of the MP3's I have are recorded at 192 - 128 kps and want to make them 96 kps to fit onto my outdated MP3 player. Any ideas?

you would need to convert them to wav and then reencode to the lower bitrate CDex will do this

96 ? *cringe*

I know that pain. But sometimes it's about quantity, not quality, when filling those old MP3 players.

I've actually run some at 64 and 32.

I've heard some 96k compressed songs and they sounded pretty good ... I would'nt do it all the time though ..

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
