Moving my hard drive

I purchased a new motherboard and processor and have tried to move my hard drive, but the new motherboard won't let me boot to it. Can someone tell me how to get my new motherboard to recognize my hard drive without re-formating? Thank you.

Getting into windows with it is one thing, but booting from it is another. You should be able to boot with it. Check your CMOS settings.

are the boards and processors(not as important as the board) the same? if they are not then theres probably hardware/driver issues and such so it wont work.

the core chipset stuff has to be the same on the motherboards, at lest from the same family to just move a disk with a setup OS from one board to another

what is it doing? what messages do you get? does it ever get past dos?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
