Moving Icons on Desktop

I have about twenty icons on my desktop. Each time I switch off and switch on again they are in a different order/place on the desktop. How do I stop this happening?(XP Pro)

Try this, right click the desktop, highlight Arrange icons by, from that box tick Align to grid.
