Hi all, I have a question thats proberly easy to aswer for the most of you. So her it is:

Can someone tell me the difference between
PC133 SDRAM ... and ... DDR SDRAM

Is there a difference in speed or something???
THX on behave of a newbie.......:D

PC133 is the common, standard RAM, and DDR stands for Double Data Rate, which means it's twice as fast as PC133. And no, you cant mix them. A motherboard usually will only take one kind or the other, unless you get one of those stupid combo boards.

ya, big difference in speed between ddr and sdram

but outback is right, some motherboards have slots for both DDR and SDRAM

but the kicker is you can only use one type of ram at a time, so if you put SDRAM in and DDR ram in the computer won't boot :p

and the combo boards that I've seen only have two slots of each. Dont know how big a stick they'd take, though, but my guess would be 512MB.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
