Okay, guys. I stupidly fiddled about with ATI catalyst control centre and my monitor went blank and displayed 'out of range'.
i have rebooted many times and after the windows logo it says 'out of range'

i am in safe mode posting this so my monitor isnt broken.

i just cant get it to work normally.
what do i need to do to sort this thing out?

i have tried opening the catalyst control centre again but it said that a driver wasnt installed.

all help appriciated...thanks.

bobsalot.

Out of range typically is a frequency error I believe. There appears to be an issue in addressing the display because it is trying to output something which is not acceptable to the display perhaps?

Are you connecting with a vga or dvi cabble?

i changed the resolution with ati catalyst control, then tried to change it back...thats when the error occured. since then i can only start the computer in safe mode without getting the 'out of range' message.

i would assume its a vga cable but im not 100% sure.

thanks.

dont worry got it sorted now...
just went into vga mode and changed it from there.

thanks, bobsalot

That's what I was going to suggest. For some reason, sometimes the digital mode will move from 60 to 59 or something else and can cause issues with regards to the range.

A vga input typically rectifies this till you re-modulate the frequency/res or whatever else was throwing things off.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
