Monitor Flickers

This isnt a direct XP question, but.. On one of my monitors (21" Dell) there is a flicker that is noticeable especially on white backgrounds. Ive adjusted the graphics level some and changed the colors from 256, to the highest and it still does it. Changed from 800x600 to 1150xwhatever and still.. Its a slight flicker and is pretty annoying. Waiting to go into convulsions from looking at it after a long period of time.. hehe.. anyone know how this may be resolved?

dell monitors are notorious for not being shielded that well. just adjust the refresh rate to the highest setting (probably 85 hertz).

Th adjust:

-- right click on desktop-choos properties
-- hit the settings tab
-- hit the advanced button
-- hit the monitor tab
-- change the screen refresh rate to 85 hertz

NOTE: after you change it and hit ok, in the event it is worse or the screen goes blank(doubt this happens) just leave it alone, dont touch the keyboard and it will go back to the way it was. This is one of those settings you must confirm.

ok, will try that. Also, I forgot to mention, I am using an ATI graphics card. I dont know if that makes a difference.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
