Monitor EeEping

I don't know if this is a common problem or what.
but my monitor after prolonged usage has started to eep (make a whistling / screeching sound) the only way i can seem to fix it is leave it turned off for half an hour or so then return to it.
Now its a fairly new monitor so i can't justify buying a new one right now so does anyone know why this is happening or even a solution.
i'm guessing its down to over-heating, but its not THAT new, so why has it started doing it now? btw, its a Hansol 710p 17" running @ 1280x1024.

sounds like overheating to me. next time it does that, place a fan near the back of it to cool it off and see if it stops within a minute or so.

You can but a small fan that will sit on the monitor & suck the heat away if heat is a continuning problem. If it is still under warranty now is the time to take it back.

Just a thought: You're not running a refresh rate that's too high for that resolution are you? As you probably know, every monitor has a maximum safe refresh rate spec which usually goes down as the resolution goes up.

it's running at a healthy 85Hz

Then I would definitely look at the warranty before it really goes kaput.

Have you tried Hansol tech support or maybe the FAQ page at their site (assuming they have one)?

my flat 19" crt barely does 1280x1024 at 85Hz... you sure it's not out of spec?

This monitor does 1600x1200 @ 75hz, yes, im sure

Maximum Resolution 1600 x 1200 @ 75Hz
Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz

Problem fixed!
Simply informed hansol i was having a probem and i had a brand new monitor within 2 days
