MOH: Allied Assault

I am trying to get Medal Of Honor Allied Assault to work on Windows 7 64bit.

I have the 1.11 patch installed. It opens up, does all the credits and videos, and loads the menu. When I go and start the first level, or training it crashes to desktop, no weird error just the regular windows saying it crashed error. I have tried all the compatibility modes as well.

I am using the HD5870 card with the latest drivers. Ideas?

The only thing on that topic would be physx and I have an ATI card, am I able to install that for my system?

Why would that old game even need that, didn't physx come out years later?

I guess you missed the part where it says you have to first run the game as admin to create all the config files.

Another part said something about a launcher that you can use to change game setting before launching the game.

I have it running as admin, even though I don't have UAC enabled.

The game runs perfectly fine. Just can't start a new game, the menu system is working great. So no settings need to be changed.

Man I was tempted to install this game the other day. I still have my copy from when it was first released.
The graphics are something to lol at.

Yea I was watching a top 40 PC FPS game list and saw this, I was like man I used to play that all the frakking time. It used to be MOHAA, CS1.4, RTCW and Quake 3 i believe. Those were my multiplayer games, thats when I actually went online. Now I just play single player games.

Hell yeah! And what's great is that ANY key can work on any server. Everyone can even have the same key. I actually owned a legit copy, but my wife and I shared it. We had so much fun until we finally converted to TF2.

Now, any other ideas?

Should I install Physx, how do I do that with an ATI card?

Have you tried using the Windows XP VM?

Nah, that's enough hassle for a game lol

I posted on twitter and a few forums, hoping to find some kind of answer.

Otherwise, its uninstall for it. Well I guess if I am going to uninstall, I can just install the VM. lol

XP mode does not support games.

Reason I dual boot XP and Win 7. :lick:

lol If I really wanted to do VM, I could use some other source, that does support things like games. Well at least that game should be supported by some lol

So I still haven't figured it out.

Physx was installed for another game, and of course made no difference for MOH. lol

This may be a stupid question but does your video card support openGL games... My ATI card did not and I had the same difficulty. ATI 3800 series did NOT support open GL gaming and they did not really care that it was a problem. When I changed to an NVidia card...the game worked perfectly as did several others i had been having difficulty with. It was suggested to me during this time that I try using older drivers to see if it would help. Good luck.

I wouldn't know. Do all cards support that now? It's a ATI Radeon 5850

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
