mIRC help?

I'm using mIRC and when i try to get a file from my friend, or anybody, i always get disconnected within 5 minutes, i have to restart my computer becuase my internet completly shuts off. Any Ideas? Is there any other specific ports that are supposed to be opened? I have the default UNIX 113 still opened.

Have you checked if you are virus or spyware free? and also firewall settings?
is this the first time you encountered this issue.
