Messenger?

Does anyone know how to get back to windows messenger 4.5? i don't like 4.6....

Uninstall messenger

To do so click run. Then Type:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

OR

Go to windows/inf and locate sysoc.inf
Now edit sysoc.inf and delete the word hide after msmsng butt leave the two ,,
Now you can remove the bastard from add/remove program under the windows tab


install the one from your XP CD, and dont update it

Man, just that frikin easy too. There's a dude been fighting that little sucker every which way but loose. I'll refer him to your post. Oh, btw, i copied and pasted your command line into run, ZAP, no more annoying messenger.

Seems when it's updated you can't do the .inf hack (deleting the "hide") and have it show up in the add/remove section.
