Hi i've just set up a user account (XP) for my wife after she deciphered my password and was caught reading my emails  , i had messenger automatically collect my hotmail account you see.

So after setting up a hotmail account for her and user account etc. i cant even start messenger in her setup is this not possible to have two different messenger accounts on one machine.

Cheers :D

re: messenger

First you need to disable automatic login

Go to User Accounts in the Windows XP Control Panel (Start, Control Panel).
On the Advanced tab, click Manage Passwords.
In Stored User Names and Passwords, select Passport.Net\*, and click Remove.
This does not delete your Passport, but removes its connection with your computer.

Click Close, and then click OK in the dialog box.

Now your wife can setup her messenger

Have tried what u said tastingw but messenger still wont fire up in my wifes user profile.

BTW which automatic logon do you want me to disable i have done this for my messenger logon or do you mean windows logon?

Thanks for your help

re:

If she has limited user right, try to give her temporarly admin rights, then look if it's working, if not maybe you can delete her profile c:\documument and settings\%username%. maybe that will reactivate her messenger

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
