Menu Slowdown !!!

I have noticed that my start menu and IE menus are extremely slow, and its also hard to get to where I want to go without the menu going back and forth(it seems confused) it also takes quite a bit of time to right click on something. My older windowsME system is much faster. It is getting very annoying. I have used the registry tweak and set it to 0 but that didn't seem to help. I also scanned for viruses, My memory usage is OK and I have turned off unnecessary services. I hate to have to reformat but I just cant take it much longer. Anyone have any Ideas!

Look at the picture I have attached and fiddle with them options, especially the Shadow under menu's.

Thanks Goku that seemed to do the trick, I turned off shadows and fade effect . So simple I would have never figured that was it!Cant thank you enough!
