Media Player wont stream video any more.

It used to though, then one day, nothing.

When you click a link you get the option to save or open. I ALWAYS want it to just open, but of course the checkbox doesn't do anything. I can uncheck it, and the same thing happens, I can check it, and the same thing happens.

And the video won't stream, it downloads the WHOLE thing to a temp file, THEN it starts to play it. It used to stream any video that you tried to play in Internet Explorer.

Maybe it's a bad codec or something? Anyone? How do I remove codecs and start fresh?

Check this

Open WMP8 and go to tools > options > Network Tab and ensure they are all ticked

If you are using a proxy or anyhting click on configure

Are you behind a firewall ? iof so it uses ports 7000-7001 to stream
