I have been looking for the download for this but everyone I find is a self contained version. Is there a version that you actually install?
I'm more used to H.264/AVC but sure...Sorry I meant DTS, which is a sound codec that I have found many .mkv files are encoded with.
ffdshow included within CCCP. At least it's complete bloat-free. Unlike K-Lite. K-Lite is...:dead::dead::dead::dead::dead::dead:cccp and klite suck monkey balls - get ffdshow-tryouts, that and mpc and you can play anything
Are you serious? It completely screwed up the file extensions, and the choice of associating the media files were NOT given. It was automatic. That was an automatic B- from me.I still have to say that VLC does NOT suck. I have never had a problem with it, well at least in terms of video I have not. VLC seems to have enough sound issues, but thats it.

CCCP should be able to play it, if it's a common format.

VLC sucks. As does IE6-8+.
they use an older version yes, you don't really need anything more than ffdshow, it plays 1920x1080 mkv hd rips i have here no problems
just get the regular mpc and u can add it to right click, open with... (u need to do it manually tho)
btw, im not sure it plays dts audio straight ahead... u're prolly gonna need ac3filter
if you have mpc and ffdshow all you have to do is tick the box for subs and it will work, as the newer versions mpc have internal splitters for all thatffdshow does nothing for subtitles if you have no media splitter.
