I reformatted my laptop two or so months ago, recently I popped in a DVD to play a movie and I didn't have the ability to do it.

I'm was, and am, a little confused, but I put the OS cd (MCE) in to the drive and poked around, couldnt find what to re-install.

Anybody know?

:: I did a search online but I guess my keywords too general or there arent any discussions on what I'm looking for -- couldn't find a procedure anywhere.

Thanks

what you need is an mpeg2 decoder. you can get one by installing powerdvd or windvd. for something free and a lot less obtrusive, dscaler5 might work but it might not be "mce certified" or something...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
